The PCN meeting on November 21 could not take place due to the corona virus. Very unfortunate, but our health is more important than our hobby.
Since last spring internet auctions have been held. The first was in May and an extra internet auction was held in October, with good results. Many lots (just over 50%) were sold and often at surprising prices. This was also the case in November. It was also visible that another group of members could be reached by using the internet. And the most important thing is that during the time that you have to sit at home still have input for your hobby.
As soon as the decision was made that November 21 could not take place, the auctioneer converted the indoor auction to an internet auction. A big job, but it worked out, an auction of 531 lots was ready. In addition to individual numbers, this auction also contained many lots and collections, which were (almost) entirely depicted. The auction ended on Saturday, November 21 at 8 p.m. Ultimately, 267 lots were sold.
You can download the yield list as a member in the private part of the website, after you have logged in under Extra / Login/logout and then select ‘Auction lists’.
Earlier it was indicated that an extra internet auction would come in December. Then it was assumed that there would be an indoor auction on November 21. For the auctioneer it was impossible to do that commitment to deliver. So no extra internet auction in December. To compensate for this, the auction in November was larger than intended.
As a result of the previous internet auctions, the question arose on the internet to allow “notes” within the auction. The site used is of a relatively simple set-up; building something like this is therefore not an option. Alternatively, a paper version was made and sent along with Perfinpost 134. Partly because it also allowed members who do not use the internet to participate in the auction, namely by submitting written bids in the existing way.
As it stands, there is a good chance that a meeting cannot take place at the beginning of 2021. In that case there will be an internet auction again in early / mid-January.
The lots will then become visible on www.PCNveiling.nl on January 2, 2021 at 8 p.m. and the auction will end on January 16 at 8 p.m. At the start, all members whose e-mail address is known in the member administration received an e-mail.
